최종 수정일: 2021년 4월 19일

No. 150 / Mar 8, 2021

In 2015, Ajou University was selected as the Software Central University. Since then, various curricula and education systems have been developed to train software human resources every year. A Software Central University is a university that develops professional human resources by revolutionizing university education around software, and realizes the spread of software’s value by strengthening competitiveness. A person majoring in software will be trained as a practical human resource with global competitiveness, while a non-major will be trained as a fusion human resource with other major knowledge and software skills. Based on this, Ajou University has been teaching various curricula, and it recently implemented a non-face-to-face software education system for use during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 AJOU SOFTCON tournament was held from December 7 to 9, 2020. To participate in the competition, click on the “Register Works” menu, enter the registrant and mentor information, enter the title and outline of the work, and register the work. The work can be a video or non-movie work. Visitors can “like” and “comment.” The tournament will use online voting, and after logging in, you can “like” and “comment” on all the registered works. Works are organized into eight categories: “Software Capstone Design,” “Information Technology (IT) basic Education,” “Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Convergence Capstone Design,” “Self-led Research,” “Self-led Project,” “Software Basic Education,” “SWeat Online Teaching,” and “Other Activities.” There is a grand prize, best prize, excellence award, and popularity award.

It won awards in the field of software capstone design and IT intensive education, and the “undefined” team won the best award. The work extracts only the necessary parts from the fonts included on a web page and downloads them so they can be used one to two seconds faster than before. In the field of ICT convergence capstone, the “Board Game Manual Understood by Augmented Reality (AR)” project by the “boARd” team won the best award. It is a board game manual application that provides AR tutorial functions for board games based on AR technology and allows you to practice games. In the research section, “Is Your Chatbot Perplexing?” won the grand prize. The goal of this work was to create an artificial intelligence that talks like a human being, for which they proposed a new model exploiting the generative pre-training advantage using a predefined dataset.

Basic education is provided by each college in the field of basic software education. The grand prize work was “The Impact of Physical Working Environment and Information Provision on Workers’ Health.” This study identified the impact of working conditions on workers’ health, investigated how the impact changed depending on how much information on dangers in the work environment was provided, and suggested directions for improvement. High school students participated in online tutoring. The “Mang-won-kyung” team from Mang-po High School won the best award for the “Smart Mask Vending Machine” project. The vending machine measured fine dust concentration and provided a mask.
