No. 150 / Mar 8, 2021

According to the Ministry of Education’s National University Graduate Employment Rate in February 2019 (including graduates in August 2018), the employment rate of Ajou University graduates was 70.4%. This is the eighth highest rate among universities with more than 1,000 graduates (excluding the second campus) in the metropolitan area.

The average employment rate of four-year universities in 227 countries dropped by 1% from the previous year to 63.4%. The employment rate of four-year university graduates was 62.8% in 2018 and 64.4% in 2019. The total employment rate of 2,184 students at our school who graduated in August 2018 and February 2019 was 70.4%. Department of Medical Sciences (100%) had the highest employment rate, followed by Division of Pharmacy Sciences (89.7%), Department of Transportation System Engineering (86.7%), the Department of Nursing Science (82.6%), Department of Mathematics (80.8%), Department of Digital Media (79.8%), and Department of History (77.8%). The maintenance employment rate of graduates was 89.3%. The maintenance employment rate is aggregated using the workplace health insurance database to check whether graduates are employed and to see if their health insurance subscription remains for a year. The higher the maintenance employment rate, the more it can be understood that graduates are in stable jobs, indicating the quality of employment.

Our school provides career and job support programs not only for students and graduates, but also for local young people. The Ajou Job Center will help low-grade students explore and set up their careers, and in the case of senior students, it will support them in developing and securing practical job competencies. It also operates one-on-one consulting with professional counselors, short-term jobs, career camps for transfer students, as well as various special lectures and Artificial Intelligence (AI) interview preparation programs.
