[On Campus] Ajou University’s Personal Mobility Device Usage Guide

As the use of personal mobility devices (e.g., electric kickboards, etc.) increases, so have the accidents while using such devices. Although it is convenient to move and rental services are activated, there are many risks in the event of an accident because various regulations or insurance systems are not established. In light of this, the Ajou University has published safety and management rules when using personal mobility devices at the university.


Safety and management rules :

1) Exercise caution when driving to prevent colliding with pedestrians and other vehicles, and in places with heavy traffic, you must get off your electric kickboard and drag it safely.

2) Safety equipment such as a helmet must be worn before operating. (Penalty for not wearing a helmet)

3) Do not use earphones or operate your mobile phone while driving.

4) All personal mobility devices (e.g., electric kickboard, etc.) must be parked at the proper location of each building’s bicycle rack.

5) All personal mobility devices (e.g., electric kickboards, etc.) can only be used on roads, and are not allowed to be brought or used inside the buildings.

6) In particular, the Industrial-University Cooperation Building of the Ajou University could be especially dangerous due to its steep slopes, so please refrain from driving in the area.


Additionally, Ajou University guided to parking and stop exclusion areas.


Parking and stop exclusion areas :

the center of the sidewalks, crosswalks, Braille blocks, elevator entrances, bus stops, building entry and exit routes, roads, low-jawed entry and exit routes, bicycle roads, fire protection systems within a 5-meter area, overpasses and underground walkways, stairs, railings, inside tunnels, on bridges
