[On campus] Ajou University Students Become A+ in the Job Market

No.162 / Mar 6, 2023

The Ministry of Education (MOE) disclosed employment rate in 2021, especially graduates of August 2020 and February 2021. According to the report, the average four-year university employment rate was 64.2%. Ajou university recorded a 72.4% employment rate—the second highest among four-year general universities with more than 2,000 graduates and the highest among universities in Gyeonggi-do.

Among major universities in the country, Sungkyunkwan University (78.5%) had the highest employment rate, followed by Ajou University (72.4%), Yonsei University (71.4%), Hanyang University (71.4%), Seoul National University (71.1%), Korea University (70.1%), Inha University (69.8%), Hanyang Erica University (69.5%), and University of Seoul (69.0%).

The fourth maintenance employment rate, which measures whether graduates maintain employment, was also high at 88.4%. That is, 88.4% of employed people who subscribe to workplace health or employment insurance, maintain it for at least a year. The figure is measured quarterly. It was introduced by MOE in 2012 to prevent universities from inflating the employment rate by reflecting short-term graduates in the employment rate. Some universities are in the high fifties and most universities are in the high seventies. Ajou University’s figure is similar to Seoul National University (88.3%), Yonsei University (88.9%), and Korea University (89.3%).

Through Ajou Job Plus Center, our school operates systematically customized career guidance services and job support programs from the lower to upper grades. It also supports intensive support programs for unemployed students among graduates. Hence, let us use them to get you an A+ in your lives!
