[On Campus] Beginning to Open Convenience Stores on the Campus

No.158 / Jun 13, 2022

Formerly, the consumption association used to run a canteen on campus. As you know, in 2020, our daily lives have rapidly shifted to non-face-to-face due to COVID-19. The school and the consumption association have been making efforts that reduce working hours and maintain employment to overcome such an emergency through wage negotiations; it is hard to overcome financial difficulties due to the prolonged crisis, so they decided to terminate the operation. After that, the bidding application for convenience store was received, and a convenience store entry into the school was completed. Finally, convenience stores are currently operated in Ilshin, Seongho, and Paldal Halls. Ilshin Hall convenience store is open 24 hours a day and from midnight to 8 a.m. as a cashier-less store. The Paldal Hall branch is open 24 hours a day since May 25, and the Seongho Hall branch is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Like Ilshin Hall, there are places where you can eat in Paldal Hall and Seongho Hall.

With the establishment of a convenience store in school, students seem to be satisfied because they can purchase necessary items 24 hours a day and can use them handily from a close distance. If more convenience stores are opened in the school, such as Seongho Hall and Paldal Hall, it is expected that people who use the facilities will be able to use them more conveniently. So far, there seems to be no plan to open convenience stores in other places except in existing stores on the campus.
