The first basement floor of Yulgok Hall, which has been closed since 2020, was finally remodeled this winter and reborn as an Innovation Hub Lounge. It is a break room, as well as a comprehensive communication space with personal study spaces and meeting rooms for discussion.
The Innovation Hub Lounge was established as a part of the “Innovation Hub University Project” for nurturing talents in the future automobile sector. Ajou University and six other universities participate in this project. Its purpose is to provide engineering education to students in the Department of Humanities and the Department of Social Sciences and nurtures talents majoring in non-engineering fields in the future automobile field. Any humanities and social science students interested in this field can apply for and take a beginner’s micro-major in future automobiles. The Innovation Hub Lounge is open from 9a.m. to 9p.m. on weekdays. To use the conference rooms (Hub 1, 2, 3), reservations must be made via the phone number listed at the bottom or through email one day before use.
The Innovation Hub Lounge is managed by the Innovation Hub department. However, students are required to voluntarily clean up because there is not enough manpower to frequently check the cleaning status and manage facilities. To maintain a clean environment, users can bring in drinks and snacks but are recommended to refrain from eating meals.
