No. 155 / Dec 6, 2021
On November 1, the government implemented “With COVID-19,” a step-by-step daily recovery program. Accordingly, each university switched from existing online classes to offline classes. Ajou University also decided to combine offline classes with online classes. In what way does Ajou University conduct classes according to “With COVID-19”?
During the COVID-19 period, Ajou University has steadily maintained offline classes. Ajou University’s Teaching and Learning Development Center taught classes on presentation skills in two fields, offline classes and online classes, in their learning method education videos. Since then, as “With COVID-19” progresses, offline classes and online classes will be conducted at the same time as other universities. At this time, based on the announcement on September 9, all offline classes would have half the number of students as in the classroom, and online classes would be conducted in parallel with the video class when offline classes were not required; only online classes would be held in the fourth stage. In the first and second stages, the maximum number of people is less than 100, and in the third stage, it is less than 50. The distance between seats remains the same.
How is the process at other schools progressing? In the case of Seoul National University, nearly half of all lectures have been conducted in offline classes since October. However, most schools continue to observe regulations for the COVID-19 situation regarding offline classes and online classes, and most say that they will conduct the new semester next year through a mixture of offline classes and online classes until the upcoming winter season.
