Ceremonies that can only be hosted by universities have come back! Due to COVID-19, many students missed opportunities to enjoy university festivals, but no longer. Universities have begun to organize their on-campus events, including entrance and graduation ceremonies, once again.
During the pandemic, students were unable to fully enjoy festivals that could only be experienced once in a lifetime. However, from now, There would be some useful and exciting events for freshmen and future graduates in the new academic seasons. Ajou University has been hard at work to return to the era before COVID-19. Until last year, we could not host ceremonies, and resorted to a mix of online and offline live broadcasts. Students were bounded by restrictions, and thus, popular events like taking pictures in front of photo wall in the degree suit at campus were impossible. However, such events, including fully physical ceremonies, are fully possible now. At this year’s graduation ceremony, some students were even able to get Chi-to doll on a first-come, first-served basis. “Photo wall” zones were created in front of Yeonam and Woncheon Hall as well. In addition, our school’s degree suit has been renewed to better represent our school identity. During the entrance ceremony, many memories could be made and preserved with classmates through celebratory videos of celebrities from our school and the Membership Training (MT) that followed. The university is expected to regain its lively atmosphere with the restart of big events.
The pandemic has been a challenge. To maintain our newly regained positive social atmosphere, we need to slowly return to our daily lives. The Ajou Globe (The AG) hopes for no more obstacles that can cause us pain and wishes everyone have fun school life.
