No.166 / Oct 16, 2023
The Ajou University Amphitheater is an open-air space located between the Central Library and Yulgok Hall. The construction of the amphitheater began on September 20, 2023, and is expected to be completed on January 12, 2024.
The space between the stage and seating, stage, and access road were renovated during the month-long construction period. According to the Department of Facility officials, this construction is just extensive repair work, and the exterior of the Amphitheater will not be substantially changed.
The Ajou University Amphitheater can accommodate up to 3,500 people. Numerous festivals, performances, and major events are held here because the amphitheater is able to accommodate the most people on campus. The first Ajou University president’s speech and the latest event, Woncheon Daedongje, are also held at the amphitheater. However, during this period, the activities will be hosted at the Ajou University Yard and Gaon Garden instead.
This construction can cause noise, vibrations, dust, and smell. Additionally, the use of the parking lot located on the west side of the Ajou University Amphitheater (the east side of the Central Library) was restricted. Instead, the visitors can pull over onto the shoulder between the amphitheater and Gaon Garden, which runs from the Central Library to Yulgok Hall until the construction is completed. Please be aware of this and act accordingly.
